Some tips . . .

Here's some tips for those of you having trouble scoring in the millions:
1. Levels 1-50 -- make sure you press the Fast Forward button. Each tile will then be worth a lot more (double in some cases).
2. Levels 51-??? -- do NOT press Fast Forward. For some reason, pressing Fast Forward at these higher levels actualy decreases the point level of each piece of track.
3. Keep in mind that you can build track even when the train is going, and you can change the direction of a piece of track after the train has passed over it. So if you get to the point where you think the train is going to crash, try to loop it around again and approach the exit from another angle.
4. This is probably self-explanatory, but on the lower levels, try to build the track through as many passenger stations and bonus point pieces as you can, even if you have to loop the train around a couple of times to do it or change the direction of some pieces of track the train has already gone over. This is risky because you could run out of gas and lose a life, so you have to be careful. Try to run the train over a piece of track with a gas fill-up if you see you're running out.
5. As you get to the higher levels, just try to get the track running from the entrance to the exit as quickly as possible. Then, if you have time, you can play with the tiles on either side of the track to see if there's a way to loop them around through bonus tiles or passenger stations. If so, then you can change the direction of the tiles to do this. If not, then you can leave the track where it is and you won't lose a life.
6. After you get a few pieces of tile at the entrance finished to buy some time, then work backwards for a few pieces by building the from the exit, and try to get the track to meet somewhere in the middle of the grid. If you're not paying attention to how the train needs to be positioned to exit, you can box yourself in, and this strategy really helps prevent that.
After that, it's luck, practice and a little skill. The last three times I've played this game, I've gotten above 8 million points, so it's very doable. I'm not cheating, and since I've come very close to the top score, I doubt that Mikey79 is either.
Hopefully these tips will help you. Good gaming!!!!

No surprise there, then.
I got to level 18 on my last go; I think the farthest I have achieved is level 20.
If the top score of 9m+ is to be believed, at level 20, then that means an average of £480k per level.
Allowing that the most I've ever scored on level one is 4.125, this means that the highest score on level 20 must be in the region of 960k.
Not believable, in my view.
Feel free to argue that there isn't cheating going on, but I'll love to hear HOW these scores are being achieved.
As with Playaholics, I no longer compete against these mega high scores - I compete on my favourite games to try and get a personal best - and no more.
